Kitchen architecture

We like to believe that our food choices are a matter of discipline. We tell ourselves that if we just had more willpower, we’d choose the kale over the crackers every time. But here’s the uncomfortable truth: Willpower is a finite resource. By the time you get home at 6:00 PM after a day of...

Why I skip breakfast now

For most of my life, I was a breakfast-or-bust kind of person. If I didn’t eat within an hour of waking up, I’d feel dizzy. I once fainted during a morning meeting - all because I skipped breakfast. My personal journey with nutrition

My journey with nutrition has been a winding path of discovery, trial and growth. It began with the simple desire to feel better – both physically and emotionally – but quickly revealed itself as a complex and deeply personal process. I was drawn to trends and diets that promised quick fixes, but they often left me feeling restricted or disconnected from the joy of food. Each misstep, however, taught me something valuable about what works for me and what doesn’t.

One turning point came when I began exploring whole, plant-based foods. The vibrant colours and fresh flavours opened my eyes to the beauty of eating in harmony with nature. But even then, I stumbled – worrying about whether I was getting the “right” balance or slipping into convenience during busier seasons. These moments of backtracking reminded me that nutrition isn’t about perfection; it’s about progress.

Today, I see nutrition as an ongoing relationship, one rooted in mindfulness and self-compassion. There’s room for experimentation, learning, and even indulgence. Through each choice and meal, I’ve learned to listen more deeply to my body’s wisdom. It’s more than fueling my body; it’s about honouring it and finding joy in the process. This journey continues to evolve, and I’m grateful for every step along the way.
